Photo Censor | Blur & Pixelate Faces Instantly

Protect privacy before posting online. Instantly blur, pixelate, or black out faces, license plates, and sensitive documents with our free photo censor tool.

100% Secure & Local: Your files never leave your device.

Protect Privacy with One Click

If you are posting a photo to social media that contains innocent bystanders, sensitive financial documents, or a vehicle license plate, you have a responsibility to protect that privacy. Our Online Photo Censor Tool allows you to drag a box over any sensitive area and instantly apply a heavy blur, pixelation effect, or solid black bar.

Choosing the Right Censor Method

Different situations require different aesthetics. Our tool offers the three industry standards for redaction:

  • Gaussian Blur The most natural-looking option. It smooths out the pixels until the subject is unrecognizable. Ideal for blurring the faces of children or bystanders in the background of a vlog thumbnail.
  • Pixelation (Mosaic) The classic "Cops" TV show aesthetic. It groups pixels into large, blocky squares. This is highly effective and immediately communicates to the viewer that something was intentionally hidden.
  • Solid Black Bar The most secure method for legal redaction. If you are hiding a credit card number, a password, or a Social Security Number, use the black bar. Blurs can sometimes be reverse-engineered by AI.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Upload or Input Data: Select your file or paste your data directly into the tool interface. Everything remains on your device.
  2. Configure & Process: Adjust any optional settings if necessary. The tool will process your data instantly inside your browser.
  3. Download Result: Preview the output and click the download or copy button to save your final results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can someone 'un-blur' the photo later?

No. When you export the final PNG or JPG from our tool, the original pixels beneath the blur are permanently destroyed and replaced by the blurred pixels. It is mathematically impossible to reverse the effect.

Why is the Black Bar safer for documents?

Advanced AI tools (like 'Depix') have been trained to reverse-engineer standard pixelation on text by guessing what font structures would create those specific blocky patterns. A solid black bar destroys 100% of the data.

Are my sensitive photos uploaded to your server?

Absolutely not. Redaction tools must be private. Our censor tool uses the HTML5 Canvas to manipulate the pixels entirely on your local device.
